Backhand Striking for Self Defense

Learn Self-Defense

This self defense video shows the different techniques of backhanding in a fight.

A backhand is basically the area behind your hand. It’s a very sensitive area so you need to be careful about how you use it. However, if performed well, it can be a very effective self defense technique.

The best position to backhand is having your arms crossed and facing your opponent.

You can backhand your attacker in the upper or lower part of his body. The good thing about the backhand is that it’s quick and fast and often your opponent won’t even see it coming.

The backhand also creates an opening for another strike. It’s a great self-defense technique to use if you want to catch your opponent off guard.

Make sure to practice these techniques with your training partner.
